Last Writes® Backup
Let me ask you a question. (It's best to be honest with yourself.-it's really your business we're talking about.)
When was the last time you backed up your data and moved the data to a safe, off-site location?)
If you're like most of us, you know what you should do; but knowing and doing are two different animals. "I don't have time now", "I forgot", "
I'll do it next week" etc., are but a few of the excuses we've all used.)
In the computer business there is an old saying that "there are only two types of computer users; those who have lost data, and those who are going to lose data")
We at Florida GraphTech have recently encountered a couple of situations which we find quite typical. At least two of our
customers have recently experienced fatal crashes of their hard drives. (It could just as well have been a fire, flood or
lightening strike as far as loss of data is concerned.) In both cases we were able to provide some data, because it's our
policy to retain the latest data after we have serviced the Last Writes® program. However, in neither case were we able
to provide all or most of the data. As a consequence, both of those customers were left with huge voids in their databases
. Their only option, if they wanted to restore the data, was to have someone reenter all the data we could not provide. We
aren't talking about missing data for days or weeks, we're talking months in one case and years in another. Not only did
it cost them to restore the data, it was highly inconvenient to operate over an extended period because of the missing records.)
At this time, you're probably thinking "boy, that's too bad, sure hope it doesn't happen to me." Well, it can happen, and to
some of you it will happen - It's just a matter of time. Remember, those people who did lose their data said the same thing.
(Their backup policy was also the same!)
Florida GraphTech would like to propose a solution to the problem. (Think of it as a data protection policy.) For a "nominal fee"
(remember, you're going to have to reenter your data - thousands of keystrokes - if you lose it!), we will capture and store your
critical Last Writes® data for you. No more concerns with backing up your records or feeling guilty because you know you should back
it up; you just haven't done it for whatever the reason.)
We propose that you setup a script on your computer (we can help you do that) and at a predetermined time, your computer will connect to our server, encrypt
and upload your data to a safe, off-site location. Our definition of "nominal fee" is as follows:
Plan Frequency Cost (Per year)* Worst case data loss
A. Once a month Free with SP 31 days (with failure right before the next backup)
B. Weekly SP fee + $150.00 7 days (with failure right before the next backup)
X. Never Free (????) Oh, maybe 1-10 years worth of records
The only requirements we will place on you (other than Plan B payment), is that you have high-speed internet, and you insure that your computer is left turned on,
with the scheduler running, on the pre-established dates. (You can easily backup manually if you prefer to not leave your computer on 24/7.) We think that once you
lose your data, plan B will
look so good to you, you'll wonder why we didn't propose this earlier. You'll also wonder why you opted for plan X!
Payments for plan B can be by check, MasterCard, VISA or AMEX and can be included with your Service policy Payment. Annual cost, for the SP with Plan B, is
$400.00. The SP alone is $250.00.
Why continue to risk your data? Play it safe and sign up for our off-site data protection plan. TODAY is the best time to start protecting your data.
